For AI developers and data research companies

Authorized company records, sourced to your request.

FirmLedge finds owners and estates whose records fit a buyer's written request, writes the inventory, and describes each company to you first without its name. Approvals, de-identification and contracting are coordinated with the source's advisers.

FirmLedge is early-stage, with no ready-to-license catalog. Availability, preparation and timing are confirmed for each proposed package.

What FirmLedge brings

The sell side, organized before you see it.

The sectors we source from: industrial, manufacturing, food and agricultural, distribution and service businesses; finance and professional firms through their estates or advisers; other categories case by case.

  1. 01
    Authorized sources.

Owners and estates whose authority to license is established for the specific package, with any court, lender or creditor approval their counsel says applies.

  2. 02
    Unnamed first.

Each company is described to you without its name: systems, years and rough counts. The name follows the source's approval.

  3. 03
    An inventory written by FirmLedge.

We write it with whoever knows the systems, so you start from a description of what survives and how it connects.

  4. 04
    Your intake, your de-identification.

Where you perform extraction or de-identification, raw-record access is under NDA and a separately approved handling agreement limited to those steps. It does not authorize evaluation, training, product use or any other use.

  5. 05
    Approvals and contracting coordinated.

We work with the source's counsel and advisers on approvals, notices and contracting, and provide what any motion, notice or report needs, including our fee arrangement.

What you receive, and when

Profile, introduction, sample, license.

  1. An unnamed profile

The systems, years and rough counts, without the company's name. No files or logins are shared at this stage.

  2. A named introduction, after the source approves

Once the source approves going further, you learn who the company is and can confirm fit with the source's advisers.

  3. A sample under your process

If you ask for a narrow sample or schema review, the source decides whether to provide one, under NDA and agreed access terms. De-identification is completed before evaluation, which requires separate release approval and agreed terms.

  4. A written license

Permitted uses, de-identification and any exclusivity are set in the written license the source approves. Delivery follows those terms.

Who pays FirmLedge: when you engage FirmLedge to source records, you pay FirmLedge and the source pays no FirmLedge fee. The source sees all offers received for the agreed package, with FirmLedge's compensation and who pays disclosed alongside them, so your fee to FirmLedge is shown next to your proposal.

A separate service

Custom datasets, tasks and verified answers.

Custom datasets are scoped separately from company-record licensing. Inputs may be original, synthetic, properly licensed or a documented combination, built to fill specific coverage, structure or difficulty requirements.

Tasks, practitioner-checked answers with working, and grading criteria can be built on a licensed package or a custom dataset. Acquired records and custom datasets are treated separately, each with its own scope, inputs and permitted uses agreed in writing.

Rights and privacy

Documented preparation. Defined uses.

Traceability explains the delivered package while protecting restricted originals and confidential source terms.

  • Rights follow the source agreement. Intended uses, onward licensing and any exclusivity must be supported by the rights obtained.
  • Release requires review. The source approves the release, recipients and uses before evaluation or licensing. Any preparation access by your technical team requires separate permission.
  • Sanitization has limits. Removing names does not guarantee anonymity. Distinctive figures can still identify a business or person.
  • Some records stay out from the start. Personnel, payroll and timekeeping files; biometric time-clock data; bank and card data; government IDs, I-9s and medical notes; privileged legal files; customer-owned patterns and drawings; export-controlled data; records covered by NDAs or vendor terms that bar the use; and anything a court order did not preserve.

Questions buyers ask

Before the first call.

Is there inventory available today?
FirmLedge is early-stage, with no ready-to-license catalog. Availability, preparation and timing are confirmed for each proposed package.
Can we evaluate before we buy?
A buyer may request a narrow sample or schema review before giving terms. The source decides whether to provide it under NDA, agreed handling and separate approval.
Who pays FirmLedge?
When you engage FirmLedge to source records, you pay FirmLedge and the source pays no FirmLedge fee. The source sees all offers received for the agreed package, with FirmLedge's compensation and who pays disclosed alongside them.
Who owns the underlying records?
The source keeps its rights. FirmLedge does not buy or resell the records or take a principal position in them.
Who handles de-identification?
The source approves who performs it. If you perform extraction or de-identification, raw-record access requires a separately approved handling agreement limited to those steps. Evaluation, training, product use or any other use requires completed de-identification, separate release approval and agreed terms. Removing names does not guarantee anonymity; distinctive figures can still identify a business or person.
What kinds of businesses and records?
Industrial, manufacturing, food and agricultural, distribution and service businesses; finance and professional firms through their estates or advisers; other categories case by case. Packages may include connected email, files, accounting and operating records, or a narrower set matched to your requirements.
Can we get tasks and answer keys?
Yes, as optional scoped work or a custom dataset. Verified answers include the working and practitioner checks.
What if we need a separate evaluation set?
We agree controls for source overlap, versions and permitted reuse. A prepared dataset is not automatically an uncontaminated benchmark.
How are engagement terms agreed?
We discuss your requirements and commercial terms directly, then document the engagement in writing.
